About the Attorney: Marcia Calcagni, Worcester MA
Marcia encourages and helps clients to take control of their own lives with a customized personal solution by and through the power of negotiations and mediation to help eliminate the need for multiple costly court appearances and trial. In family law situations where children are involved, Marcia litigates and negotiates her cases always keeping the best interests of the children in the forefront. Whatever your case may involve, Marcia works tirelessly and aggressively to obtain the best results possible in the situation.
Marcia has been appointed by the court as Guardian ad Litem in cases involving minor children, incapacitated persons and the elderly. She has also been appointed by the court as parent coordinator in difficult family situations when a judge believes that such a coordinator is needed to provide stability for children in often difficult situations when parents can no longer communicate with one another. In certain cases where children are involved such as guardianships cases, Marcia has been appointed by the court as counsel for the children when the court believes that children need a voice.
In estate planning matters, Marcia will help guide you through often difficult decisions. After striving for a lifetime to provide for oneself and to secure one’s future, it is important that your wishes for the future are determined by you. Marcia will help you prepare the right legal documents to insure that by assisting you through preparation of the right legal documents to distribute your estate the way you want.
In real estate matters, Marcia personally handles all aspects of the sale or purchase without passing you over to a paralegal. Although with many firms, once you have retained an attorney to represent you in a real estate transaction, you are handed off to a clerk or paralegal, Marcia is with you every step of the way throughout the process from the Offer To Purchase or Purchase And Sale Agreement right through to the actual closing on your real estate. Any questions and concerns along the way are handled personally by Marcia.
Prior to practicing law, Marcia had a long term career as an engineer and manager of corporate budgets for NYNEX (Verizon). During her career with the phone company, Marcia work involved her developing skills as a conflict negotiator for telephone subscribers always putting the customer first. Those skills have served her well in her being ever conscious that each and every person and each situation is unique and requires a unique approach to find the best solution possible in the least amount of time and with the least expenditure of monies.
Marcia has been a licensed real estate broker since 1970 and is owner/broker of Horizons Unlimited Realty. She is also a licensed pilot receiving her private pilot’s license in 1976.
